Dear Kylo,

Today you were born.

We've been waiting for you for nine months — through every ultrasound, every kick, every sleepless night of wondering what you'd look like, who you'd be. And now here you are: eight pounds of pure possibility, wrapped in a hospital blanket, staring up at us like you're trying to figure out us just as much as we're trying to figure out you.

You have your dad's nose. You have my eyes. You have a set of lungs that made the entire maternity ward turn their heads.

We don't know who you'll become. We don't know what you'll love, what will frustrate you, what will make you laugh until you can't breathe. But we know this: you are already the most interesting person we've ever met. And we will spend the rest of our lives paying attention.

This website is our promise to you. We're going to write it all down — the firsts, the funnies, the quiet ordinary days that turn out to be extraordinary. So that someday, if you want to, you can come here and see yourself the way we've always seen you.
